Hello,
We’re the crew behind Outpost North Wilderness Camp—your basecamp on the edge of the Dalsland–Nordmarken lake system. From here you can paddle straight into interconnected lakes, hike into deep Nordic forests, and return to a camp designed for comfort, community, and self-sufficient outdoor living.
Between adventures, refuel at the café, pick up essentials in the shop, and wind down in our shared spaces—stretch tent, lakeside terrace, bonfire pits, and the big tipi for yoga and evenings by the fire.
If you have questions while planning, send us a message.

For general travel planning in Sweden: visitsweden.com
Depending on where you are traveling from these are the places to find your information:
First plan to get to the nearest biggest city. This might be Gothenburg (south), Oslo (north east) or Karlstad (north west).
Then find your way to the nearest small town…
… from Gothenburg – Ed, Mellerud, Åmål and from their to Bengtsfors. (Either by bus or between 09.06 and 23.08 there is a local train going a two times a day from Mellerud to Bengtsfors).
Destination busstop: Kråkviken, 66693 Gustavsfors + a short walk.
… from Oslo you can take a Flixbus to Årjäng. From there you can go by bus or try to arrange a drive with “Taxi Årjäng”.

From the busstop it’s just a short walk to arrive at Outpost North. From the bus stop by the swimming place, cross the road and follow the train tracks, switch to the gravel road (left) and follow it until you see our signs.
If you want to come to Sweden with your own car, that is of course possible. You can park your car at the base camp; a parking ticket for a week costs €70. You can find our address here.
The best routes:
Take the ferry in Puttgarden or the Storebælt bridge to Denmark. Tickets for these crossings can be purchased online or on site. Then travel via the Øresund bridge from Denmark to Sweden. You can buy a ticket on site at the toll gates or via this link.
Please take into account approximately €190-€330 in additional costs for the ferry/bridge and toll bridge.
Or take the Stena line ferry from Kiel to Gothenburg.
Oslo, Gardermoen (Norway) – OSL: ~164 km
Take the Flybussen to Oslo’s center. From here you can take a Flixbus to Årjäng. The last section is lesser frequented by public transport, have a look at Västtrafik. You want to take the 755 from Årjäng busstation to Kråkviken, 66693 Gustavsfors. Now it’s just a short walk to arrive at Outpost North. From the bus stop by the swimming place, cross the road and follow the train tracks, switch to the gravel road (left) and follow it until you see our signs.
